Surgery
There are 5 operating-rooms theatres.
Over 3800 operations are performed every year.
Surdophoniatrics Department for Adults
There are 60 beds.
At the Department, specialized treatment of patients with hearing and voice pathology is performed.
Performing operations:
- cochlear implantation,
- stenosis respiratory tracts lumen reconstruction using lasers and various stents,- stapedioplasty and restapedioplasty,
- tympanoplasty of all types,
- operations to remove glomus tumors,
- otosclerosis operations.
Chronic stenosis treatment is performed on the basis of the procedure developed at the Otorhinolaringology Department of BMAPE.
In 2007 the number of in-patients was 1894.
The number of operations performed was 2180.
Surdophoniatrics Department for Children
There are 30 beds.
Performing operations:
- cochlear implantation,
- osseculoplasty,
- miringoplexy,
- drum chamber stenting by gold and platinum stents,
- tympanoplasty of all types.
- closed type middle ear operations
There is arranged assortment and adaptation to hearing aids, initial hearing training of the children following cochlear implantation. Individual rehabilitation programs are being developed.
In 2007 the number of patients was 1265.
The number of operations performed was 1662.
